Vicky is the global head of business development services for Morgan Stanley Investment Management. She joined the firm in 2014 and has more than 20 years of industry experience. Annemarie’s career in financial services began after separating from the United States Air Force. She received an honorable discharge, ending her career as an Air Lift Controller at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, where she supported Operation Enduring Freedom, otherwise known as the War in Afghanistan. Joining Ameritrade (now TD Ameritrade) in 2003 with very little knowledge of the financial services industry, she immediately grew an intense interest in the financial markets. At Ameritrade she quickly rose to the level of Account Executive, serving a book of High, and Ultra High Net Worth investors in the areas of day trading, complex options, and restricted stock trading.
After working at several Nebraskan brokerage firms in various capacities, she left for Florida, eventually moving to St. Petersburg for an advisory compliance role within Raymond James Asset Management Services (AMS) in 2011. In 2012 Raymond James acquired Morgan Keegan & Co, and its team of Institutional Consulting experts at which point she developed a formal compliance review, and approval process for all institutional deliverables, and RFPs. After working hand in hand with the Institutional Consulting Services (ICS) team for over six years, the team re-organized in 2017 to form the Institutional Fiduciary Solutions division, established to devote more resources to the institutional, municipal, and retirement plan consulting space. When Eleni founded Equivico with support from the National Community Reinvestment Coalition, she sought to build a company that, like her career, is situated at the nexus of smart investments and social justice. As an investment professional, she draws on her experience in government, the tech sector, economic development and market research to invest profitably in businesses, assets and projects that benefit households, societies and investors alike.
Eleni’s entire career has been in entrepreneurial roles, building businesses and investing in people. Prior to Equivico, she served as vice president at the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). During her tenure, she established the first ESG strategies team, administered a portfolio of 18 tech startup incubators, and advised on over
$250mm venture capital investment strategies targeting minority- and woman-owned businesses, life sciences and small businesses. Further, Eleni co-founded New York City’s corporate attraction team, which coordinated the City’s, initially winning, bid for Amazon’s second headquarters. The project was expected to be the largest economic development project in the U.S. in several decades.
Prior to NYCEDC, Eleni built The Opportunity Agenda’s market research practice where she serviced major social justice organizations and philanthropic institutions nationally and published groundbreaking studies. Adrienne Garofalo, Partner, joined Gagnon Securities in 2012 and is Head of Business Development and Client Management. Adrienne was previously the Director of Investor Relations at Seven Locks Capital, a long/short equity hedge fund, where she managed the marketing and investor relations process for the firm. Kellie Gries is a RFP Manager for the asset management division of Principal, overseeing the retention of clients through the completion of due diligence questionnaires and supporting the global distribution team and the 13 investment boutiques across the organization. Her duties include developing and implementing scalable processes and metric tracking, as well as finding solutions to increase efficiency and quality of the proposal and questionnaire output. She worked alongside her colleagues to implement a new Content Management system and has worked with internal and external partners to explore how the role of automation can enhance her team’s process. Kellie joined the firm in 2008 and has held positions within the retirement division and Marketing/Product roles within the asset management division (Principal Global Investors). Gerson R. Elizabeth Hiss serves as a research analyst at Brown Advisory, a private investment management and strategic advisory firm with approximately $100 billion in client assets. Elizabeth works in the Investment Solutions Group (ISG), which performs manager research and selection, makes asset allocation recommendations, and creates and manages specialized partnership funds for individuals, families, endowments and foundations. Elizabeth focuses primarily on identifying sustainable strategies and managers for clients across asset classes. Previously at TIAA, she was responsible for overseeing and directing all pension, retirement and asset management RFP activities in the organization. She has more than 20 years of experience in proposal writing and management in multiple financial services arenas.
Afiya is responsible for developing relationships with investment consultants and working with institutional clients. She has worked in the investment industry since joining American Century Investments in 2005.
